Director of Studies

James A.F.Wadham
James Wadham is Chief Executive of The Fiduciary and Consulting Group, comprising several entities, all aimed at providing highly specialised solutions to clients problems.

Mar Wadham was first called to the Bar of England and Wales by Inner Temple and later admitted to the Bar of Hong Kong where he has been based since 1976. He has practised as a trustee for over 20 years and has lectured at a number of tertiary institutions and professional conferences during much of that time.

Marcus C. Killick
Marcus Killick, is Commissioner and Chairman of the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, He is an English Barrister and also a member of the New York State Bar. Prior to joining the Commission he was Director in the International Regulatory Services Team of KPMG, based in the UK. He has also held previous positions as Deputy Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission,and Head of Banking, Trusts and Investment Services at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.

Dr H. L. Bernhard Vischer
Bernhard Vischer was admitted to the bar in Zürich in 1978 and today is a member of the Swiss as well as of the International Bar Associations. In 1988 he opened his own practice and now operates an office in Zürich. Professionally, Dr Vischer is active in commercial and banking law, including litigation.

Nigel Goodeve-Docker
Nigel Goodeve-Docker is an English solicitor who has specialised in the law of trusts and tax, both in the UK and internationally for most of his practising career. Previously Senior Partner with London Firm, Wedlake Bell, Nigel continues his specialist work at his own practice in Hampshire, England.

Charles A. Cain
Prof. Charles A. Cain MA, ACIB, TEP, is an Economist and Banker and Chairman of Skyefid Limited, Isle of Man. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Offshore Investment magazine, Visiting Professor at the Isle of Man International Business School, and an Adjunct Professor at St Thomas University School of Law, Miami, Florida.

Howard S. Fisher
Howard S. Fisher is the senior partner of the Beverly Hills based law firm of Clinco & Fisher, LLP. He is a business transactional attorney (corporate, real estate, asset protection, and securities), with expertise in business and tax litigation. Mr. Fisher has published more than a dozen articles, and has spoken at over 100 conferences around the world, and has authored sections/chapters in several treatises. Mr. Fisher is a past chair of the California State Bar's Taxation Section, the Beverly Hills Bar's Taxation Section, and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Beverly Hills Bar's Business Law Section.

Barry J Woods
is Special Tax Counsel with Cornwall Stodart Lawyers in Melbourne. Barry has over 40 years experience advising clients on domestic and international taxation, mergers and acquisitions, effective business structuring and re-organisation, capital raising, finance, investment syndication, business succession planning and general commercial matters.

BARBADOS
Dr Trevor A. Carmichael QC was called to the Bar as a member of the Middle Temple in London. He is the Principal of Chancery Chambers, a Barbados based law firm engaged primarily in international business law, environmental law and the law relating to charities.

FRANCE
Peter Harris
is an English tax barrister and has practiced since his call in 1979 in both European and French tax law. He practiced in France for over ten years, firstly as In House Tax Counsel to Renault, and after a period in Jersey, Channel Islands, for four years in his own Chambers in Aquitaine, before moving to London in 1999, where he has since practiced at the Revenue Bar. He spent eight years in Jersey, in various areas of the offshore scene, and served as the French Consul there in 1994-1995.

Bill Ahern is Managing Director of Wealth and Tax Advisory (Asia) Limited - the private client tax consulting and wealth structuring arm of HSBC Private Bank.

IRELAND
Peter O'Dwyer is managing director of Hainault Capital Limited, a company which provides advice to cross frontier businesses, in particular to those involved with international investment funds, group structures and structured finance. He is also a non-executive director of a number of investment companies and funds based in Europe and the Cayman Islands. He is Editor of the Fintel Guide to Global Hedge Fund Services.

ITALY
Loretta Napoleoni
is an economist and has worked for several banks and international organisations in Europe. She is also a journalist and has worked as foreign correspondent for several Italian papers. She has written novels and guidebooks in Italian and is a recognised expert on terrorism. Her most recent novel, Dossier Baghdad, is a financial thriller set during the Gulf War and she is also the author of Modern Jihad Ð Tracing the dollars behind the terror networks.

Dr Markus H. Wanger
is Founder and Senior Partner of Wanger Advokatur, a leading Liechtenstein Law Firm. Dr Wanger is also Managing Director of the Trust Company Industrie & Finanzkontor, based in Vaduz and the author of various publications on Liechtenstein Law.

NEW ZEALAND
John W. Hart LLB (Hons),
M Jur, Notary Public is a New Zealand based barrister with over 24 years legal experience. John has specialised in tax and trust law and related planning for 20 years, with a large component of his work being cross-border/international in nature.

Anthony Molloy QC was admitted as a Barrister in 1967, and currently practices from Shortland Chambers, Auckland. In addition to lecturing at Auckland University, he is a frequent conference speaker and has published more than fifty papers on trusts, taxation, intellectual property, ethics and company law.

Dr Patrizio Merciai
is a private investment consultant and an associate professor of banking and finance at the University of Geneva. He has 18 years experience with Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie, Private Bankers and has been involved in setting the bank's international asset allocation from 1988 to 2004.

UNITED KINGDOM
Richard A. Cassell is a Principal at the London office of Withers LLP and is qualified as a solicitor in England and is a member of the Washington DC Bar. He has practiced law in the UK and the US for over 20 years and has worked extensively on cross-border charitable structures. He has written and spoken extensively on cross border charity issues and advises a number of charities, as well as serving as a charitable trustee of several organizations.

Andrew De La Rosa is a practising barrister and U.S. attorney at law. He practises primarily from London and the Chicago law office of Morris & De La Rosa and is a recognised specialist in the law relating to professional and trading partnerships.

John G. Goldsworth was called to the Bar at the Middle Temple in 1965. He acts as 'of counsel' to a US law practice in Chambers at 8 Gray's Inn Square, London. As a founder member of the Offshore Development Group within these Chambers he advises governments, institutions and companies on the proper use and development of offshore financial activities and the development of legislation for inward and outward investment including company law, trusts, tax law, and financial law. Frequently a chairman and lecturer at professional conferences, John was Director of Studies at the Oxford Offshore Symposium in 1993 and 1994.

Richard Hay is the tax partner and head of the Private Capital Group in the London office of Stikeman Elliott, Canadian and International lawyers. The Group advises on international estate planning structures for high net worth families, particularly those in Latin America, Canada and Europe. The Group also advises on information exchange and financial regulation matters, including the initiatives pursued by the OECD, the EU, the FATF and the IMF. Mr. Hay is co-chairman of the STEP International Committee.

Nicholas Jacob is a Partner in the City firm of Lawrence Graham, London Solicitors, a leading firm of lawyers in the Tax, Trust and Estate Planning field according to the Legal 500. Since qualifying in 1982, he has specialised in Taxation and Trusts with particular emphasis on planning for the Entrepreneur. He advises Trustees all over the world, in virtually every low tax centre, and visits many of them frequently. He has been consulted as an expert witness in his field, and is quoted as a leader in the field of Trusts and Personal Tax in recent editions of Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession.

John Nugent is a Director of PKF (Isle of Man) Limited, specialising in the provision of offshore tax planning advice to wealthy individuals, their family trusts and corporate groups. His advice encompasses the mitigation of estate, capital and income taxes and the improvement of existing trust and corporate arrangements and he lectures frequently on international and offshore tax planning.

Shan Warnock-Smith, QC specialises in advice and litigation connected with trusts (both onshore and offshore), estates and charities, and associated taxation. In 2004, both the Legal 500 and the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession placed her among the leading practitioners in her field. She is a frequent speaker and broadcaster on trust and estate matters and sits on the editorial board of the Wills and Trusts Law Reports. Shan has appeared in many of the leading private client cases in recent years both in England and the offshore jurisdictions.

is the McKenna Senior Fellow in Political Economy at the Heritage Foundation. He is one of the nation's experts on the flat tax and has been the leading international voice in the fight to preserve tax competition, financial privacy, and fiscal sovereignty

Denis Kleinfeld is General Counsel to Four Points Family Office, (USVI) and a principal of The Kleinfeld Law Firm, a Miami, Florida based law firm with associated offices in London, England, and Geneva, Switzerland, and a Director of Windjammer Cruises. Mr Kleinfeld's primary practice focus is on sophisticated national and international income, estate and wealth protection planning for individuals and privately held companies.
